Hold the phone-- the word “world” implies something singular, but that’s just not the case. A fathomless number of universes exist parallel, so surprise! The multiverse theory is real (you know, the theory that suggests multiple universes exist outside of your own). What the hell is DD INC. you may be asking?"

DD INC. stands for I think I'm the only person here now. If you're reading this, my name is and the company organization is responsible for managing the destabilization of reality by removing and containing Abstracts. An Abstract is something that does not belong in that world; the threat can range from minor to severe. A DD INC. employee's goal is to stabilize the reality no matter the cost by removing these Abstracts (you get paid in company currency of course...)The headquarters of DD INC. is located in a self-contained world known as R-00000-AAB where the only thing that exists is the ever-so-warping office building. There are many areas in the building for the employees to marvel at such as the reception and greeting area, cafeteria, break rooms, wellness rooms, IT rooms, meeting spaces, conference rooms, and of course a snazzy workstation with a new open plan office design! Those aren't the only areas, of course, but the most easily accessible ones....Take care not to accidentally stumble upon the more non-Euclidean structures and do listen to your managers about the potential dangers of the building.

Gameplay Mechanics

DD INC. uses the d100 system with modifiers, rolling against DCs for the purpose of skill checks. Other mechanics may be used:

  • Real-life quick-time decisions

Stats (EGOS)

The stat array for DD INC. is called EGOS which is much similar to Tri-Stat system.ESSENCE; Spirit, determination. The cohesion of self.
Affects rolls related to willpower, resistance to mental influence, and executing or resisting reality-bending abilities.
GRIT; Endurance, strength. The steel of the body.
Affects rolls related to health, physical actions (such as attacks), and withstanding physical hardships.
OBSERVATION; Perception, intellect. The dagger of the mind.
Affects rolls related to analysis, detecting hidden things, and insight to other characters.
SANITY; Stability, resilience. The resistance against hardship
Affects rolls related to resisting fear, emotional breakdowns, and/or maintaining clarity during stressful or maddening situations.

HP, MD, & EP

Health Points (HP) represent your character’s health, and how much damage they can withstand. A character’s HP starts at 4 (max), and lowers from taking major damage.Upon losing all HP (hitting 0), your character dies and respawns within The Office. This means if they are outside when it happens, they’ll be removed and teleported back.Madness (MD) is the state of insanity and distortion, to have the spools of the self unwind.
A character’s MD can range from 0 to 5, starting at 0.
Euphoria (EP) is the state of elevation and mania, an unnatural uplifting of the self.
A character’s EP can range from 0 to 5, starting at 0.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Upon completing each operation, employees are expected to file a comprehensive report to their department manager detailing all actions taken, each anomalous and non-anomalous entity encountered, and the Abstract’s characteristics. This helps DD INC. track contained Abstracts and improve stabilization protocols.

WORKPLACE CONSIDERATIONS

  • Employee Wellness: During interdimensional travel, employees must remain vigilant in their mental and physical well-being. In the case of madness being observed, please report to ECO immediately.

  • Equipment: If employees are equipped with tools for their operation, they are responsible for taking care of the equipment and returning it to DD INC. Always double-check your belongings, before returning to DD INC. If a foreign item not belonging to the reality is left behind, the item be destabilize the reality.

  • Employee Safety: While DD INC. strives to ensure the safety of its employees, the inherently dangerous nature of Abstracts and unstable realities means that accidents may occur. Employees should be prepared for the unexpected and be prepared to die.

RULES OF DD INC.'S REALITY

  • RULE OF CONTINUUM: Time within this reality is flexible, but cannot be broken. It can loop or warp, but it cannot stop.
